Morgan Hill, August 24, 2022 – With over 125,000 kids living below the federal poverty line in the Bay Area, supporting local organizations is a necessity. Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley aims to help close the opportunity gap to achieve greater economic, political, and social equality among under-resourced youth and the communities in which they live. It is with this critical mission in mind that the Club was honored to accept a generous $100,000 donation from Silicon Valley tech employer ServiceNow and the creation of new state-of-the-art technology room for low-income, high-risk youth in Morgan Hill. The culmination of this partnership came with a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating its completion.

One way we can have an impact is to focus on creating new opportunities for our youth.” said Chris Rogers, Head of DEI for Engineer at ServiceNow, “We are excited to partner with the Boys and Girls Club in Morgan Hill in creating a safe place for children with free access to technology. With 98 percent of youth served at the club from lower-income families, this is an incredibly important investment to support them on their learning journey”.

The new space brings together the positive environment of the Club and innovative technology to promote education and key technical skill development in youth. The brand-new ServiceNow technology lab will be utilized to further help pursue the objective of building and inspiring future leaders in technology. Club members will be able to engage in a range of activities in the new lab, which sports high powered laptops, televisions, and even a 3-D printer. Guests of the event, including current Morgan Hill Mayor Rich Constantine, former Mayor Steve Tate, members from the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce, Club leadership, and ServiceNow executives spoke to the crowd about their excitement and thankfulness for this incredible collaboration. Following the check presentation and ribbon cutting, guests were able to enjoy refreshments and engage with members directly, who were eager to display the many talents they’d cultivated at the Club. Club youth shared their passions at dedicated stations featuring live painting, chess games, and a Lego robotics demonstration.
