This visual celebration is a public declaration of our community’s commitment to building a brighter, more equitable future for young women. But the celebration doesn’t stop there. This year, the Club is hosting a unique empowering event designed to connect girls with the role models who can help them shape their futures.

About International Day of the Girl

Recognized globally every October, International Day of the Girl (IDG) is dedicated to advocating for the rights, education, and empowerment of girls around the world.

Every day, young women are breaking boundaries and barriers. As entrepreneurs, innovators and initiators of global movements, girls are creating a world that is relevant for them and future generations. This observance is a powerful reminder of the importance of ensuring that every girl—regardless of background—has access to the tools, mentorship, and resources she needs to thrive.

To celebrate IDG, BGCSV will be hosting an event at San Jose State University on October 8 in partnership with Comcast to connect female leaders in the community with young women develop confidence, courage, and life skills to build bright futures.
